The Venue at Cenita: Melissa + Brandon
A True Love Story
Melissa & Brandon met through their lifeguarding jobs on the Gunpowder River in Maryland. They were both home from college for the summer and just so happened to be next to each other in rotation. They spent many hours of the day talking and playing games to pass the time, all while supervising the river, of course. They instantly hit it off and some may say they had a sweet summer romance. They both returned to their seperate colleges, stayed in touch a few months, then eventually went on with their lives. A few years had passed and Melissa had just moved to Atlanta, Georgia for a job. She had posted on social media about the "lovely" traffic in Atlanta when Brandon commented and they realized they were now living in the same area. After a night of playing trivia together with some friends, they hit it off just as they once did. Brandon became Melissa's "tour guide" around the big city that eventually led to date nights. Next came buying a puppy, then the purchase of their home together. Brandon proposed while they were vacationing in Banff, Canada. The proposal was perfect as it was the first snow of the year on Lake Moraine.
The Perfect Day
Melissa and Brandon have always enjoyed the outdoors. They had envisioned their wedding day in the mountains, as many of their favorite vacation spots were from camping and hiking in the mountains. They chose The Venue at Cenita as their wedding venue for many reasons, but mainly for the gorgeous views of Yonah Mountain that served as the backdrop during their ceremony. They even hiked with their wedding party the day prior to showcase the view from the top!
Love Is An Adventure
Family and friends from several different states traveled to celebrate this sweet couple. They even had friends travel from the UK to be apart of this special occasion. Melissa had painted the seating chart that also served as guest favors. The couple gifted airplane bottle openers to their guests and the board read "Love is an Adventure" as all of the guests had traveled to attend this wedding day.
Puppy Love
The day was filled with love and happiness. From the romantic ceremony with the amazing backdrop view to an evening of dancing and cheer. Melissa and Brandon also wanted to include their fur babies in some form or fashion. While the venue was pet friendly, they knew it would be a lot to have them in their wedding. So instead of bringing them to the wedding, They had a painting done of them and presented it on the bar as the signature cocktail names. "The Rory"- Prosecco with a fruit flavored Popsicle and "The Shadow" -GA Brewed Beer, Sweetwater Variety. They also included an all black German shepherd figurine for Shadow on the wedding cake. They notched some of the cake out to appear as if our mischievous dog ate it.
The Venue at Cenita
This gorgeous venue exceeded the couple's expectations for their dream wedding. With acres of vineyards, winery, and amenities for small to large weddings, it was the perfect fit for this couple. They were able to focus on all the celebrating without any worry or disappointment. The Venue at Cenita is family owned and operated and holds strong values of faith, hope and love.
First Dance
Melissa and Brandon shared in their first dance to Mango Tree by Zac Brown Band & Sara Bareilles. They chose this song as they typically would belt out singing it during their long road trips. Brandon would sing the Zac Brown Band parts and Melissa would sing the Sara Bareilles parts. It ended up being more of a karaoke debut versus a first dance, but it will be a treasured memory for years to come.
First Look
Although Melisssa and Brandon opted out of a "first look" with each other, Melissa wanted to have a special moment with her dad. She was able to spend some one on one time with him and presented him with his tie. She had sewn a patch on the back that said: "Dad, thank you for walking by my side today & always. I loved you first, Melissa -10.12.19" It was a precious time for the bride and her father.
Oh Happy Day!
The entire wedding weekend was perfect and a dream come true. The happy couple soaked up every minute while all of their guests enjoyed the festivities as well. It was a day to be remembered forever by all. A beautiful bride, handsome husband, and a love to last a lifetime.
Congratulations to this beautiful couple! We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
