Take the Cake

Take the Cake opened in the fall of 1986 by owner Nancy Purcell, a graduate of Johnson & Wales University School of Culinary Arts. Initially started as a wholesale bakery, selling to area restaurants, caterers, and coffee shops, the bakery quickly expanded its retail shop in 1988. Over the years dozens of talented pastry chefs and enthusiastic high school students have worked here, helping create a bakery full of memories and love.
