Venue Description

Rooted in rich history and the deep culture of the South, our beginning dates back to 1676 when the Drayton family called Magnolia home. In 1870 they extended an invitation to visitors to experience the thousands of beautiful flowers in their famous romantic gardens. Today, at nearly 500 acres and with the distinction of being America's oldest public gardens, we hope to extend the same gracious hospitality to your guests as the Drayton family did in the past to make your guests feel welcomed on your wedding day. As you dream about what you want your wedding day to look and feel like, you'll notice that each of our wedding venues is almost as unique as each of our couples. Our indoor green house at the Conservatory will invite you to enjoy natural, simple pleasures. The Carriage House, surrounded by ancient live oaks, overflows with rustic, old Southern charm on the banks of the Ashley River. The stately and romantic Plantation House Veranda will enchant your guests with panoramic views of the abundant gardens in the heart of the plantation. We invite you to come experience the property and be swept away in the romance and beauty of our historical gardens. We feel so honored to play a part in your story and cannot wait to meet you!
