Classic and Romantic Southern Wedding at Graylyn Estate | Wendy + Kris
Both classic and romantic, a blush and champagne color palette designed by Kerri Leigh Events, made for a gorgeous atmosphere at Wendy and Kris’ North Carolina estate wedding. This elegant affair took place at The Graylyn Estate, where the couple exchanged vows in a courtyard ceremony.
Inspiration + Love Story
Bride, Wendy, says of their wedding day inspiration, “We wanted our guests to leave our wedding feeling as if they were a part of something special. We chose a classic color palette. We kept everything light with blush, ivory and champagne hues. I would describe our style inspiration as classic with vintage elements.” Certainly, we agree – the wedding photography beautifully captured by Vesic Photography caught every tender moment and meticulous detail on this emotion-filled and truly special day.
Kris and Wendy have a love for southern living and tradition. Wendy says they are both old souls who were raised the same way. They both come from farming backgrounds and their grandparents played a huge role in their lives. They find it good for the soul to get back to the country. Wendy says, "I'll always believe Kris was sent to me. I think my Grandmother is responsible for placing him in my life after she passed. He is my everything she ever wanted for me and more than I thought existed." The couple feels super lucky to be where they are!
The Graylyn Estate
The Graylyn Estate, located in Winston Salem, North Carolina, is rich in romantic elegance, making it the perfect location for a timeless wedding. The grounds are exceptional with multiple locations for ceremonies and receptions to take place.
Wendy and Kris chose The White Garden for their ceremony, which has year-round white blooming flowers, and is located on the southeast lawn of the Manor House. A gorgeous stone gazebo and terrace framing the space in which they said their vows.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held inside the Manor House and was rich with timeless romantic details. A fifteenth-century French carved doorway in the main entrance hall and a Neoclassical design of the Adamesque period and the rare Louis XV paneling imported from Paris that adorns the Library walls are a few of the unique elements that make up the gorgeous inside of the estate.
Wendy recalls her favorite moment being the feeling she had when they were announced husband and wife as well as when she reminded herself to take it all in. Kris says seeing Wendy for the first time was his favorite moment of the day. Seeing their families so happy on that day was so special to both Wendy and Kris.
It was a true Southern fairytale wedding! Congratulations to Wendy and Kris on their Graylyn Estate Wedding and a special thanks to Vesic Photography for capturing this gorgeous day with these stunning images!
