Bacon roses were one of the first-ever stars when it came to food bouquets, and now more and more companies and restaurants are putting their own spin on edible arrangements.
Olive Garden is offering free downloadables to turn your basket of breadsticks into bouquets of carbs and love, and for the couple on the go, they are offering pre-made bouquets with the purchase of $35 Valentine's Day ToGo Dinner for Two along with a box of chocolate mints (those breadsticks are great, but garlic and kissing is definitely not a match made in heaven).
Showing the fiery passion your love creates by gifting your sweetheart the Burning Love Bouquet from Edible Arrangements. Chocolate dipped strawberries sprinkled with chipotle chili flakes and paired with red grapes and heart-shaped pineapple to create the perfect pairing between sweet and heat. Arrangements start at $60.
Boston Market is another chain company helping foodies show their love on Valentine’s Day by offering a bouquet of their own: a dozen “Bae-by” back ribs smothered in barbeque sauce for just $30. Is there any better way to say I love you?
Courthouse to Offer Free weddings
If you’re in the area of San Antonio, Texas and want to get married without the worries of the usual expenses of a wedding, then consider spending your Valentine’s Day with Bexar County Clerk Lucy Adame-Clark at the County Courthouse. Lucy will be performing 4 mass wedding ceremonies on Valentine’s Day at no additional cost to the couples involved. The only price anyone will have to pay is if they are in need of a marriage license, which would cost $81, and could be received at the 1st floor of the Paul Elizondo Tower.
Lucy did suggest that if the couples wish to they could donate $20 to help The Battered Women's Shelter and Bexar County Family Justice Center.
Carwash Chain Offers Free Group Wedding
Soapy Joe’s is a car wash chain known for some pretty unique marketing strategies, like carwash karaoke competitions and their Emmy winning “Commit Your Car” campaign, and this Valentine’s day is no exception. This year the company is transforming its Imperial Beach location into the Tunnel of Love and offering an all-expenses-paid group wedding.
The unique outdoor venue will offer a 50-foot aisle underneath the light and flower decorated “arches” (vacuum booms), a white and blue runner walked by couples to the sounds of an acoustic guitar and a large 15-foot wide balloon arch. The company’s live-action mascot Soapy will also be making an appearance as the ring bearer for all couples participating. Couples will be provided an officiant for the ceremony and a 15-minute photo shoot afterward. Seats are available to friends and family on a first-come, first-serve basis and the company will also have extra witnesses on hand for anyone who opted to come sans guests.
The company will be giving each participating $500 worth of registry gifts and free carwashes for the rest of the life of their car. Soapy Joe’s is also giving the couples a chance to share their stories on social media for a chance to win a five-day, four-night cruise to Mexico.
All couples interested in participating in the group wedding must be California residents, have a valid marriage license, and must submit their applications online (https://soapyjoescarwash.com/tunnel-of-love/) by noon on February 13th to qualify.
