Venue Description

The Belltower was built in 1896 by the Dutch Reformed Church in the historic cement Town of Rosendale, New York. When the congregation moved to neighboring Bloomington in 1971, the church and rectory house were purchased by the Rosendale Volunteer Firemen's Association. Since 1985, with the most recent change in ownership, the building became known as the Belltower, a studio for glass design and sculpture. In 2012, the spacious main floor of the visually prominent Gothic-style brick building was transformed into a unique and welcoming venue for weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, private celebrations, fundraisers, conferences, seminars, and cultural events. We can accommodate accommodate up to 120 guests. The nave and guest hall is 2,500 sq ft in size and has high vaulted tin ceilings. An abundance of natural light entering through a soaring front window. The original wood-staged pulpit is a distinctive setting for ceremonies, speeches, presentations and musical performances. Beautifully restored fir flooring creates an atmosphere of warmth and rustic country elegance.
